Bring your own AI
Thoth’s AI features use your own provider and key, so you choose the model, the price and where your data goes. Requests go from your PC to your provider; nothing passes through Thoth.
Works with
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- OpenRouter
- Ollama (local)
- Any OpenAI-compatible server
What you get
Writing tools
Improve, fix, shorten, expand or simplify any text, change its tone, and dictate descriptions instead of typing. Free.
Step writer
Titles and descriptions written from each screenshot and the control you clicked. Pro.
Summaries and translation
A guide title and introduction from its steps, or a translated copy of the whole guide. Pro.
Your house style
Instructions for every request, like your product names or audience, plus extra ones per guide (Pro).
Voiceovers
Narrate video exports with a Windows voice, or an OpenAI-compatible speech service.
Set it up
A few minutes, once.
- 1
Choose a provider
In Settings → AI, pick OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Ollama or a custom OpenAI-compatible address.
- 2
Add your key and model
Paste an API key (Ollama needs none) and choose a model. Test the connection.
- 3
Decide about screenshots
Turn “Send screenshots” off to send text only. When it’s on, blurs are burned in before anything leaves your PC.
Good to know
- Keys are stored encrypted with Windows on your PC.
- With Ollama, AI runs entirely on your own hardware.
