The situation
There’s a fourteen-page Word procedure with screenshots pasted in, and a recording of someone walking through it on a call. Neither can be updated without redoing the work.
What you end up with: Editable guides with a step and a picture for each point, ready to update, blur and export.

- 1
Open the importer
In the library choose Import → Word, PDF or screen recording… and pick the file.
- 2
Check the steps Thoth found
Thoth reads the file and shows a preview titled Steps found: the sections, steps and pictures it picked out. Check that it split the document where you would, and rename the guide in Guide title.
- 3
For a recording, tune the sensitivity
Thoth picks a frame whenever the screen changes. A new step when the screen changes lets you choose Fewer steps (big changes only), Normal, or More steps (small changes too).
- 4
Create the guide
Confirm, and Thoth builds the guide with a step for each one found. It then opens in the editor like any other guide.
- 5
Tidy it
Recording-based steps come with pictures but no words. Write titles yourself, or choose the option to write step titles and descriptions with AI afterward (Pro; see Use AI to write and improve steps). Blur anything private.
