The situation
Harbor IT supports 120 Windows 11 computers across four practices and wants Thoth on the ones used by technicians and office managers, kept up to date without anyone running an installer.
What you end up with: Thoth installed and current on every target computer by policy, with people signed in to their own accounts.
- For
- IT teams and MSPs
- Takes about
- a morning for the pilot
The Deploy page has the script and every option. This is the order to do it in.
- 1
Pilot on one computer
Download the script from the Deploy page. In an elevated 64-bit PowerShell window, run
.\Deploy-Thoth.ps1 -CheckOnlyto see what would change without changing anything. Then run it without the flag to install. Open Thoth as a normal user to confirm. - 2
Decide about updates
By default Thoth updates itself. If you push updates yourself, add
-UpdateMode Managedand in-app updates are off on that computer.-UpdateMode Automaticturns them on again. Reopen Thoth for the change to take effect. - 3
Push it from your RMM
Run the same script as a policy or task, as SYSTEM or administrator. It verifies the installer’s SHA-512 before running setup, skips computers that are current or newer, and waits if Thoth is open.
- 4
Read the result
Exit code
0is installed or already current;10is “CheckOnly found work to do”;20is “Thoth is open, ask the user to close it”;3010is installed and a restart was requested (nothing reboots by itself);1is a failure, so read the activity output before trying again. - 5
Have people sign in
No keys or credentials are in the script. Each person opens Settings → Plan & license → Sign in with Thoth, and Pro comes from the license your team gave them. See Teams.
