Version history
See earlier versions of a guide, name the ones that matter and restore one when an edit goes wrong.

Thoth keeps copies of a guide as you work on it, so a bad edit isn’t permanent. A version holds the guide’s text, structure and marks; screenshots are kept as long as any version uses them.
- 1
Open Version history
Choose Version history in the editor’s header.
- 2
Look around
Versions are listed with their date and number of steps. Select one to see its steps on the right.
- 3
Restore or name it
Choose Restore to go back to that version. Thoth saves the current state first, so restoring is itself undoable. Save version… lets you name the current state, like
Reviewed, so it’s easy to find. Named versions are kept.
When versions are saved#
- Automatically, at most every 30 minutes while a guide is changing.
- When you save one by name.
- Before Thoth makes a bulk change for you: find and replace, an AI rewrite (“Before AI improvements”), or applying refreshed screenshots.
