A help center is your guides as a small website: a home page with search, a page for each folder (a topic) and a page for each guide, with an “on this page” list and, if you want, a click-through demo.
- 1
Organize your guides into folders
Each folder becomes a topic. Guides outside folders are listed on the home page. Steps you skipped and the trash are left out.
- 2
Open Help-center site
In the library header choose Help-center site. Pick In a folder on this PC, then what to include: the Whole library, one folder, or the guides you ticked.
- 3
Make it yours
Set the Site name, Tagline, Footer text and Logo, the Site color (it follows your brand kit) and the Site theme. Turn Click-through demos on or off.
- 4
Build it
Choose Export website. Thoth writes the site, then offers Open and Show (in its folder).
- 5
Put it online
Upload the folder to any web host: SharePoint, an intranet, GitHub Pages or Netlify. You can also open
index.htmlstraight from the disk.
Hosting it with Thoth Cloud#
You can also put the site on Thoth Cloud at your own address under thothdocs.com: publish again any time, only what changed is uploaded, and every version is kept so you can go back. The Free plan includes one help center of up to 25 guides; Pro adds more sites and your own domain (coming soon).
