The situation
Pinecrest’s patients keep phoning to ask how to log in to the new appointment portal. You have thirty guides, but they’re on one PC.
What you end up with: A website with a search box, a page per topic and per guide, your logo and color, and a click-through demo for the common tasks.

Group guides into topics
Each folder becomes a topic on the site. Make folders like
Logging in,Appointments,Billing. Name guides as tasks:Reset your password, notPassword stuff. - 2
Write for customers
Give each guide an introduction of one sentence. Skip internal steps with Skip in export. Run Check this guide and fix every personal-info and untitled-step item.
- 3
Set your brand
In Settings → Brand kit add your logo, color and fonts, so the site, PDFs and demos share one look. See Set up your brand kit.
- 4
Build the site
Choose Help-center site in the library, pick In a folder on this PC, choose the whole library, set the Site name, Tagline and Footer text, keep Click-through demos on, and choose Export website.
- 5
Put it on the web
Upload the folder to your own hosting (GitHub Pages, Netlify, SharePoint or your intranet). Link to it from your app and your email signature.
Thoth Cloud can also host the site for you at an address under thothdocs.com, and publishing again uploads only what changed (coming soon). Until then, any web host works because the site is plain files.
Keep it fresh#
- Give each guide a Guide owner and a review interval, and watch Needs review. See Review reminders.
- When a guide changes, build the site again into the same folder; files from the earlier build that no longer belong are removed.
- Search is built in: visitors can find a guide without knowing which topic it is in.
